Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the clinical value of the combination of needle and mirror therapy in promoting the recovery of upper limb motor function. Methods Sixty patients with upper limb dysfunction after stroke admitted to Zhuzhou Central Hospital from August 2021 to November 2022 were selected and divided into two groups with 30 patients in each group. Among them, conventional rehabilitation training combined with mirror treatment was included in the control group, and head needle treatment was added to the control group for the observation group. After 4 weeks of treatment, the clinical effectiveness, the Fugl Meyer assessment scale(FMA), and the Brunnstrom stage were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the FMA scores in the two groups were higher than those the before treatment and the FMA score in the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant (P < 0.05). Patients in the observation group had better upper limb Brunnstrom motor function stage results than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (Z = 2.101, P < 0.05). In the observation group, the results of the hand Brunnstrom were better than those of the control group with statistically significant differences (Z = 2.152, P < 0.05). Conclusion In the early stage of recovery, head acupuncture and mirror therapy are effectively combined with general rehabilitation training, which has a positive effect on the recovery of upper limb motor function in stroke patients.
