Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKP) is an evolving bacteria strain with higher virulence than the classical Klebsiella pneumoniae (cKP). It was characterized by community acquirement, multiple infectious sites, mainly young and healthy hosts, and often occurred complications, like multiple organ damage, resulting in severe disability, and finally fatal events. Currently, no reliable and high-efficient approaches were developed for early recognization and treatment. In this article, we reviewed the pathological and clinical features of hvKP infection to provide a reference for fast diagnosis and therapy and improve the prognosis.
