Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To evaluate the effect of escitalopram oxalate in the treatment of lifelong premature ejaculation (LPE). Methods A total of 80 LPE patients treated in the outpatient department of the First People's Hospital of Shangqiu from January 2023 to June 2023 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The observation group was given escitalopram oxalate orally, the control group was given placebo orally, the course of treatment was 4 weeks. Intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) and premature ejaculation diagnostic tool (PEDT) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results At the end of treatment, 4 cases fell off in the observation group and 3 cases fell off in the control group. After treatment, IELT in both groups was significantly increased compared with that before treatment, and the observation group was higher than that in the control group; PEDT scores in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and observation group was lower than that in control group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). After the treatment, the improvement of IELT interval in the observation group was better than that in the control group, with statistical significance (χ 2 = 10.524,P = 0.005). Conclusion Escitalopram oxalate can improve ejaculation control in patients with LPE.
